23TRA285 A Schools Restorative Journey - St. Patrick's Comprehensive
Date: Tuesday, 21 March 2023
Time: 5pm - 6pm
Venue: Online Via Zoom
This one hour webinar gives an overview of the remarkable 18 month journey of one school, St. Patrick's Comprehensive, Shannon, in its quest to become a restorative school (or as close as one can get to this realistically unreachable goal). Joe Power (external trainer) will firstly explain briefly what RP is, as well as what it is not, and why the range of practices are adaptable to any school. Paige Franklin (co-ordinator and trainer herself now) will then explain why St. Patrick's started on this, how it went about it, how it's getting on and, yes, what challenges it has had (it's not all plain sailing by the way). She will be joined by Ciara Golden and Grace Killeen, teaching staff and RP trainers. Finally they will all answer questions and give advice on how you can do something similar should you choose to go down the RP road yourself. This promises to be a rare opportunity to look at and learn from the experience of one brave school.
